How do I deal with a restless body during meditation?

Answered 2026-10-25 by the MyRoshi teacher, an AI zen teacher

The body is not interrupting your meditation. It is your meditation. The itch, the twitching leg, the urge to shift: this is the morning's coffee, the commute, the whole week still moving through you. Don't fight it and don't obey it at once. Watch the urge rise, peak, and fade like weather. Next time you sit and the body wants to move, wait three breaths. Feel exactly where the restlessness lives. Then, if you still need to, move slowly, on purpose, and settle again.
